Investigation of human anatomic variations on three-dimensional models using innovative and interdisciplinary approaches and organization of a Virtual Anatomy Collection
The project aims to develop innovative and interdisciplinary approaches for investigation of the anatomic variations of the skull based on three-dimensional models.
The project objectives are:
to generate volume and polygonal models by using different digitization technologies;
to implement comparative qualitative and quantitative analyses;
to develop an ontology of the anatomic variations reflecting the taxonomies, hierarchies and relations between them;
to create a Virtual Anatomy Collection representing a database of Linked Open Data - LOD-VA (Linked Open Data for Virtual Anatomy);
to apply methods for data mining to the collected data in search of general models and regularities in the etiology and localization of the anatomic variations.
