Organizers

The Central Laboratory on Parallel Processing of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in cooperation with the Division of Numerical Analysis and Statistics of the University of Rouse will organize the second workshop on "Large-Scale Scientific Computations". The format of the workshop is expected to be similar to the first one held in the International House of Scientists "F. Curie'', in the "Sv. Konstantin i Elena'' resort, near Varna, Bulgaria on June 7-11, 1997.

This workshop, in addition to papers covering various aspects of scientific computing, will have have two special tracks:

"Computational Linear Algebra"

"Large-Scale Scientific Computations of Engineering and Environmental Problems"

Time

The workshop is scheduled for: June 2-6, 1999, with arrival on June 1, and departure after midday on June 6.

Place

The workshop will be held in the picturesque town of Sozopol, on the Black Sea coast, 36 km to the south from Burgas (the nearest international airport).

Topics

Specific topics of interest (but not limited to) are the following:
  • Multigrid and domain decomposition methods
  • Adaptive methods and local refinement algorithms
  • Splitting algorithms for coupled systems
